skating with satie

there is a beautiful little skating rink at the legislature just minutes from my home and so close to the frozen river..... this music and my post christmas blues made me consider running down the hill and skating away forever.

i didn't have any wrapping paper and so i used drafting paper and string. i think i like it better this way. merry christmas everyone. oh and my silk came today i'm excited to start making things and experimenting with dye.

my new golden ipod nano has a video recorder!!! and many neat tricks. you'll be seeing a lot more live posts to come.

away in a manger

my nativity scene was not working for me this year i just couldn't find a way to arrange it nicely especially considering there was more josephs than sheep. it was a actually a bag of mismatched leftover nativity scenes i got at value village one year. so i did what i do best and spray painted it.

winter wardrobe

this is pretty much what i wear everyday. faux eel skin leggings, woolly socks in sorrel boots, my sunja link silk dress over a we3 jersey dress (for extra warmth), an american apparel black hoody and my vintage holt renfrew fur. it's like minus 30 here and you need layers....cute ones!!!

i'm at MAKE IT right now! these are some new bags that i have here waiting for good homes just like the misfit toys in rudolf the red nose reindeer. i feel like a bit of a misfit here myself but there is a fat franks and we are old pals. also i am going to drink my first red bull ever, these nice girls were walking around handing them out and i need it!

new labels!

i just got my new labels, thanks staples. i thought i would try something pretty for my pretty costumers. so i used the image from my blog, it's a picture i took in NYC at the museum of natural history, one of those stuffed animal dioramas.

eighty-five earrings

i've been hiding inside all week from the snow making earrings for MAKE IT the giant craft fair coming up this weekend at the avaiation musuem in edmonton. i hear there will be dj's and hot dogs!

oh christmas tree

so i drank enough rum and eggnog today to notice at 2 am that it was indeed december the first and i could rightly decorate my tree. this is me kinda drunk in my new favorite shirt that i bought at royal bison from miss josee of La Fabrique. thank you to everyone who came out to royal bison, it was a huge success!
