Night Parade

last week we went to a night parade. there are many festivals and parades in montreal but i have never been to a parade at night, as you can imagine they did a lot of cool things with lights.

I don't have any labels yet or a silk screen area set up so i had to batik the labels using a kistka my friend ava gave me last time we made Pysankas. These dresses are on their way to nokomis.

honeycombs

i bought this beautiful big block of beeswax at the jean-talon market the other day. it looks like a brick of gold and smells like summer honey. i have coated this hand dyed canary yellow crystal bag making it waterproof, well mostly. it gives the fabric a strong, dense feeling and yet still soft and flexible, and the smell is wonderful.

i love sending mail and getting mail and making presents and painting cards. this is my little thank you's to the very talented girls who helped with my photo shoot for fall 2010 wolfy. it's a good thing working with women because i can repay them with presents.

spider rainbow

we have six huge double windows in our loft and each one has a spider living in it. the spiders also get bigger as they get closer to my work table, sick. i know i should be thankful because we have this giant gorgeous net on the outside of the windows keeping all the bugs out but i still get creepy feelings when i look up and see them sucking bug guts with one or three eyes on me.





i took these pictures in the middle of a thunder storm yesterday when the sun came out for a moment creating the biggest, most perfect electric rainbow.

fishy

i've ordered some fish skin leather from sea leather in calgary. they boast that their product is using fish skins from canneries that would otherwise be thrown back into the water bodies. i can't wait to try it out, they are quite stunning.

the adventures of pipi in photoshop

i think i am on that borderline age group where i am young enough to have had computers in school but old enough to have slipped through the cracks. i am slightly computer illiterate so this is my first experience with photoshop and......... i love it!!

wolfy paintbrush

i bought this paintbrush at the china town street sale last weekend. it is made with wolf hairs! pretty cool. my hand is blue from dyeing fabric all day.

house work

in this sweaty and humid montreal heat, the only sane way to get the chores done is in your swimsuit. the elbow length pink dish gloves are from the japanese market next door.
