look book

recently i bought a mini photo printer (so happy) so i've been printing off pictures of my drawings and including them on the hangtag. so when you buy a item from me you also get a little copy of the original design. this is probably only exciting to my mum.









this spring 2011 season i didn't have the time or money to hire model and photographer for my spring looks and seeing how i mostly am selling consignment in season i thought it could wait until actual spring time. so this is what i did for spring and why not do things differently?! in the old days they would draw pictures, make paper dolls or even send around little mannequins wearing tiny samples so other kingdoms could copy the styles.

these leggings are a sample of the long johns i'll have for sale over the winter season (smart mart, christmas puces pop and etsy) however they will be in a light weight black tencel/wool blend fabric. my sample ones shown here are made from some mesh netting i bought in NYC.



they have no seam in front making the legs one piece but i've added a separate bottom piece cut in a diagonal for design detail so the seam starts below your knee in the front and wraps around to your back thigh.



so i'm not a huge fan of "look what i bought blog posts" on my blog but LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT! got this doe pink cashmere/silk scarf at Thistle and Clover in Brooklyn when we were there. it's a very girly cute little boutique and if you end up going be sure to eat at Dino across the street. soooo goood.

these bags are for spring 2011 but i will be selling a few PRE SPRING pieces and samples at SMART DESIGN MART. luckily bags are good for anytime of year.







reptile pebble printed new leather bottom with black canvas top bleach treated to give the deadly black mold appearance. the straps are belt weight and there is a zippered pocket inside. this bag looks stunning up close and from afar.





the black diamond purse is made from the same reptile pebble printed new leather. it has a thick zipper on top and bottom giving you two separate compartments in your purse and the strap is detachable with a swivel spring clip so you can flip your purse upside down effortlessly.



i should also note in these photos i am wearing the spring 2011 black tencel pleated pants rolled up and the black see through box pleat blouse tucked in. this pant fabric is amazing, so soft and drapey like silk. dresees from my 2011 collection will also be available in the tencel fabric in colours black and army green.

brooklyn and washington

these are a couple spooky photos of the area in brooklyn where we were staying... it was kinda ghetto, a homeless lady/man in a pile of rags would smile and wave "good morning" to us everyday from the condemned house across form ours. but it was cheap and a wonderful b&b run by a really nice guy.



brooklynn flea market on saturday is outside but on sunday it's in this beautiful church. pretty regular stuff we got: records, coffee and dinosaur earrings. YES!




we also took a free bus through huffington post to washington on saturday for the jon stewart and steven colbert rally to restore sanity in america (boy do they need it right now). it was overwhelming like 250 000 people attended. this is my favorite costume.










rally's are ok and all but my favorite part of Washington was going to the outdoor flea market and eating fresh made pretzels and buying pearl earrings....that's just me.

sorry about the delay, i've been away and as usual i come home and hit the pavement running. i started my first business class at SAJE, a really great Quebec program for entrepreneurs. AND i have to get ready for SMART DESIGN MART which i feel very honored to have been invited to partake in. AND a million other things to do.

i didn't take a lot of pictures in NYC because you know... i was busy having fun but here's a taste of the trip.



there was lots of drinking to do and art museums/galleries to see....

We went to many stores showing our work and just looking. i have a new store in manhatten to carry my stuff called CONVENT, very exciting! (thanks elizabeth for the tip). we also did some fabric shopping at metro textiles (thanks yana for the tip) and elegant fabrics (these guys are amazing) both great stops if you are in NYC.

and ofcourse central park for pretzels and mini bottles of champagne.
