so not really sure what this is...is it in the actual magazine or just online? anyhoo looks like i am in the nylon magazine etsy shop pick!!!! check it out here also so cool i was included with jon's friend hunter who makes beautiful shoes under the label apartment five and he made us some of those beautiful shoes this summer!
the comments on the nylon site are really funny. people pushing their own sites. and it's totally true, how the hell do you choose the best of etsy?!?! everyday i get sucked deeper and deeper into the emerging talent showing in that place. it's nice to be noticed though, real nice, thanks nylon!

why i love christmas: part two

hanging stockings...ummm i mean hanging dollarama bags, this is the only store that is doing well in the recession



for breakfast: mussels in a white wine and garlic cream sauce and a plate of fresh strawberries all from the atwater market here in montreal



giving the cat presents like this loyal luxe cat tipi, so cute. i also made pipi this little bear skin rug out of shearling scraps.



feeding elizabeth's cat cleo while they are out of town and giving her a present from "santaclaws" while we drink the champagne they left us



as long as we were in the neighbourhood might as well go skating at Parc La Fontaine the ice is a little bumpy there but i managed to only fall once!



i also believe in giving yourself presents like this mono dress that was half off!



Christmas parties! we went to angie and tyson's orphan's christmas party which they host every year, they also run a lovely store in montreal Headquarters galerie and boutique but unfortunately there are no photo's of this, i guess i was having too much fun....




it was really special doing whatever i wanted all day long with my bf but i do miss you edmonton friends and family!

why i love christmas PART ONE

i'm not religious i'm just festive and this is why i love it:


it gets dark early and i don't mind because i get to turn on the tree covered in candy canes and candy coloured lights. it was so little this year we put it up on our loft.


wrapping and sending your loved ones gifts (90% home made presents) although i do prefer to watch them open and enjoy them but this year i'm sending my dears love from afar.


spoiling yourself with yummy treats and rum and eggnog, the best drink ever invented!

and of course the music and movies.......







have yourself a merry little christmas and bah humbug to those who hate christmas, i understand and wish you good luck with that ;)

I will be selling a few Black Mold spring 2011 samples at puces pop with special christmas sample sale prices. These pieces are hand painted black on cream silk dresses for that deadly mold look.

so this is the lastest in my waxing cotton with beeswax experiments.......



voila dark crystal tote bag in a black cotton completely soaked in yummy montreal beeswax. it's hard as cardboard yet still pliable and will break in very nicely.



i've been looking for a way to make this 3D bag really pop and leather just wasn't cutting it. this is so structured it stands completely on it's own.



as you can see there are still bits of wax stuck in the cracks even after heat setting but i am assured this will wear off as the bag is worn in. the cotton has a shiny texture in some spots that will dull and even out eventually. looks so old and earthy.



i am quite pleased and will be selling this sample at puces pop unless i decide to keep it for myself.... or get it right now on etsy.

don't you just love magazines?!! don't ask me how i afford them or find time to read them because i don't know. but it's necessary for my sanity and so is this hot creamy thick coffee. apparently being a designer means i can write magazines off on my taxes!!

and even though this picture of my dress didn't make it into Display Canadian Design Magazine it is a beautiful picture i stole from the photographer's blog she sees (Emilia Thomas) of the behind the scenes pictures taken during the shoot. It was styled by the beautiful Tara Gillespie.

Leather bonnet with fur trim. A modern version of an old hat. This hat is made from recycled black leather with aviator like seaming and bonnet brim made from new black rabbit fur. The lining is a soft silky tencel with a hand printed label. Comes in one size and should fit heads ranging from 19"-23" circumference. The leather is also lined with a thick cotton to give added insulation and shape.

Silk Georgette see through dress with 6 panels and seam lines accentuating the hips and narrowing the torso front and back. The hemline is longer in the front and lower in the back. This dress is meant to be worn loose, it has a low cut neck line and hugs the hips a little.

The fabric is very soft flowing and feels wonderful on your skin. I wear this dress layered over and under everything, sometimes I even sleep in it. It has a silk screened label in the back made from the same fabric.

hand wash cold water and lay flat to dry.

smart design mart

this weekend was spent selling at the smart design mart sale here in Montreal. It was a wonderful time even though i was getting a cold and hung over twice.
i'm so lucky Johnny helps me do things!

en masse collective did live artwork on giant white walls put up specially for the event for two days straight. it was pretty cool to take a peek at their progress every time you walk to the bathroom or go buy another turkey sandwich.
